Race Time!

Why they hold the annual pinewood derby in the winter is beyond me. I think I complain about this every year at about the time I am freezing as I am trying to cut these cars in the freezing cold garage.

The actual event was a lot of fun. The boys had a great time building and painting their cars. I did manage to take a more hands off approach this year and of course they finished better than last year. So I think I have learned my lesson about trying to get too competitive. You would be surprised at how easy that is.

This was Eric's first year participating and he managed to place 1st in the Wolf class. Eric also got a trophy for "Most Cub Scout Spirit" car. Jacob placed 2nd in the Bear class. I didn't get a picture of Brandon with his car but he got to use Jacob's car from last year and he raced in the Open class. Everyone seemed to have a great time.

  1. Those cars are sooo cool! WOW! I'm impressed by your boys. That's neat you won trophies. We didn't have enough money in our budget for trophies. Looks like fun!
