Waiting for Santa! (the real story)

Don't be deceived by the angels in the picture in the previous post. I think we all want to be able to share with everyone how picturesque Christmas Eve is with our families. A night filled with love, laughter, giving and sharing.

We started off well, with a wonderful real meal (not pizza) prepared by Amanda. We had the whole shebang - turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, rolls and green bean casserole. Everyone then put their best set of pajamas on. You all know what I am talking about - not the typical hodge podge of mismatched tops and bottoms and the occasional high waters when someone is too lazy to go downstairs to get their own so they put on their younger brothers. C'mon, we can't be the only ones that strive for Christmas morning pictures where our kids look halfway decent!

We proceeded to watch "Joy to the World", a DVD produced by the church that depicts the story of Christ's birth really well. We have found this works better for our kids at their ages, rather than reading from the Bible. Before we could get through the movie, kids were horsing around and had to be excused from the room until they could learn how to be decent. Without getting into all the details, let me show you how the night ended (see the picture below).

Check back for an update to see if Santa agreed!
