I can't believe it. How time flies. Jacob turned 10 today!! I remember when he was born like it was yesterday. He used to be so small and now he wears the same size shoes as me!
We had a great family day. We started with opening presents before 9am. The big hit was a ripstik and Mario Cart for the Wii with 4 wheels (ya know cause we have 4 kids!). Apparently clothes are not a big hit when you are a 10 year old boy.
We had lunch with friends and then cake and ice cream with some of Jacob's friends from the neighborhood.
It was a beautiful day here and we spent most of it outside with friends. We went to the skate park in Pekin in the morning and then came home and rode bikes, played ball, and rode on the ripstik.
Some of the things we love about Jacob:
- He loves to play sports- especially anything that has to do with a ball (baseball, football, basketball)
- He really enjoys helping in the kitchen (he made eggs and toast last Sunday for the kids while I was in the other room)
- He would spend all day outside with friends if we let him- rain or shine or snow!
- He has the greatest pain tolerance - last year when he broke his arm he didn't even shed a tear and when he falls off his bike or skateboard or whatever he is on (only because he is doing tricks) he jumps right up and says "I'm OK!"
- He is still willing to give me a hug or let me hug him really quick even in public!
- He is very helpful with his brothers and sister - although like any kid he gets fed up with them every once in a while.
- He is adventurous and is willing to try new things even if they are hard at first
- He loves to laugh and have fun!!
Mom and Dad love you so much Jacob and are so proud of the young man you are becoming. It is so fun to watch you grow and learn new things. We hope you had a wonderful birthday!
He can't be 10!!! I so remember the day he was born :-)
