Best Seats in the House!

That's what they call them, "Best Seats in the House". Jacob and I attended the last season game of the Bradley Basketball game. I actually had 4 tickets and usually take the 3 boys. Eric had gotten sick earlier today and Brandon doesn't really get into the game so I decided to make it a one-on-one night with Jacob. We got there about 45 minutes before the game started. The seats we had were high up in the nosebleeds. We got some nachos and were just sitting there talking and eating. Jacob asked if he could go down to the court and give the players high fives when the starting lineup is announced. This is a tradition they do with all the kids lining the court and as each player's name is announced they run by and give them high five. Jacob had never been able to do this and I was feeling lazy and said not this time. He said "I wish we could have court side tickets once and then I could do it!".

Not more than 5 minutes later a lady approached us and asked if we wanted to sit in the "Best Seats in the House". I asked her what we would have to do for them and she said just smile and wave at the camera during the first timeout. So she escorted us to two comfortable, reclining seats right on the court. Behind us was the entire student section along with the band. We were not more than 15 feet away from the basket. I'm not sure who enjoyed it more, Jacob or myself. Bradley played Drake and it was an awesome game. It went into double overtime with Bradley winning by two points. There was so much screaming that we couldn't hear anything, not even the announcer. Jacob got to see about 3 dunks right there at the basket. It truly is a different game sitting so close.

Jacob did get to give the players high five and sit court side. He truly got his wish that night. It was cute to see how anxious and nervous he was about having to be on camera. He kept asking "When are we going to have to wave?" At the first timeout a guy with the camera came over and had it pointed right on us. Then the bright spotlight was directed right on us as they showed us on the jumbo tron and announced our names as having received the "Best Seats in the House".

It was neat to share such a great experience with Jacob. I am sure he or myself will never forget it. Check him out crossing his fingers as he was hoping they would win in overtime.
