Happy Father's Day (Alaska Dad)!

A few memories of my Dad. I remember you...
  • taking me roller skating early every Saturday morning when I was little.
  • riding your bike to and from work at UAF when it was really cold outside and your eyebrows and mustache would freeze with ice crystals.
  • dressing up as an Ogre in the ice show.
  • spending countless hours at the ice arena watching and skating with Melaina and I.
  • carrying Melaina and I downstairs to bed and you would always say "Tail between legs, head on tail, curl like a squirrel".
  • calling me "moo-juice". To this day, still not sure exactly why. I don't even like milk!
  • taking us to Lagoon and going on all the scary rides with us.
  • going to the "drop in" as you would call it just to drop in and get something to drink.
  • teaching me how to drive a stick shift in the red truck at the Big Dipper parking lot. Luckily I don't think either of us suffer any permanent whiplash.
  • taking me to get my drivers license in December.
  • going with me when I was a teenager to the movies. When one movie finished, we walked out and right back in to view another.
  • taking me for rides on the back of your "cool" motorcycles. I particularly enjoyed when all the guys would comment on how cool the bike was. Gee...you can't tell I didn't like being in the lime light!
  • always making it a priority to come down and visit me and my family each year.
  • NEVER being too busy to talk whenever I call. No matter what time.
Thanks for the wonderful memories Dad. Happy Father's Day!
