- Feeding the ducks in the evening at the pond as Dad taught at the local community college.
- Camping in a tent next to the van where Dad slept on a father and son campout.
- Dad taking me fishing in the Ogden river to show me how to fish, after many unsuccessful attempts in the Weber river with my friends, and still not catching anything.
- Golfing with Dad at Hill Air Force Base.
- Dad building the coolest underground fort at Grandma & Grandpa Sleights.
- Dad spending many evenings fixing the garage door in Fruit Heights, UT.
- Dad never making material things (i.e. driving a nice car to work) more important than the needs and desires of his family.
- Watching Dad's face as he opened a present for Christmas from all the kids that contained airline tickets for him to visit his parents for one of their anniversaries.
- Listening to Air Supply in the van as Dad and I went home teaching in Germany.
- Feeling very special, important and proud of my Dad as the family was escorted to our seats during a change of command ceremony.
