Yesterday morning was gorgeous. The big boys were already outside while Brandon, Allison and I were inside. We hadn't unlocked the sliding back door-it was only 10:00am and the front door was dead-bolted (otherwise we have an escapee-Allison).Brandon decided to go out and needed help getting his bike out of the garage. No problem it will take 2 seconds. I head outside and leave Allison on the couch watching "Super Why". When I try to go back inside I find myself locked out! Allison had gone behind me and locked the garage door to the house. I spent the next 10-15 min. pounding on the door in the garage yelling at Allie to "unlock the door and let me in." I am sure my neighbors got a great laugh listening to me plead with my 2 year old to let me in the house!
My boys then informed me she had gone back to watching the TV and was ignoring me. Jacob gets the bright idea to bribe her with chocolate-her favorite! At least that got her off the couch and to the door but she was unable to unlock it. This was obviously becoming a lost cause. We (me, my boys and about 5 neighbor kids) decide to try the back sliding door. At least she meets us at the door-how could she not we are all pounding on it and yelling her name!
We quickly get her to unlock it but it took about 10 min. to get her to pull the stick out of the track. She thought it was a great game. As we pointed to the stick she would point to the door where our fingers were pointing. She finally got what we wanted and removed the stick to much cheering! The first thing she did when I opened the door was hold out her hand and say "chocolate"- too cute! All I can say is at least I was not locked out in my PJ's! (I won't go into details about that one!) I have now moved keys around so not ALL of them are inside the house.
That is hilarious! Nothing like trying to get a 2 year old to do something. Reminds me when I locked myself out and Josh was a baby sitting in his car seat. I finally called a locksmith and he was still sleeping in the car seat. Thanks for sharing. :)
ReplyDeleteAll I have to say is, "Hahahahahahahaha ahahahahahaha ahahahahahaha ahahahahahhahahahah!"
ReplyDeleteThat is so funny! That reminds me of why the first rule on the top of the "Matthews Family Rules" chart is "Do not lock the door when someone is in the basement." I'll have to tell you that story sometime!
