Visiting the North Sea brought back fond memories for me when we did the same thing with my family when I was about 12 years old. And it was just as cold as I remembered! It was only about a 20 minute drive from Keukenhof.
The kids had a good time running up and down the beach and wading in the water a bit. Jake decided it was too cold for him and didn't get his feet wet. The other kids waded as far as they could with their pants rolled up.
