Wooden Shoe Making

Halfway between Amsterdam and the place we were staying is Zaans Shans.  There we stopped and saw the windmills and watched the wooden shoes being made. It was impressive to see that these shoes used to take hours by hand to carve and now they take minutes with the machines. They said it is easier to make them when the wood is real wet. To demonstrate how wet they were, after he made the shoe he blew real hard into the shoe and water just flowed from the shoe. It was cool!
